Lake Level: 704.2 Water Temp: 47 Degrees
Water Clarity: Clear
Lake Taneycomo, here in Branson, Missouri is
really fishing well. The rainbow trout are
really biting with some browns on occasion.
There has been water running most days and
you have to adapt to the changing
conditions. For those who adapt, it will be
rewarding.
Above Fall Creek we
have been catching trout using drift rigs
with peach and pale yellow egg flies trailer
with #12 and #14 uv grey and tan scuds. Also
early or under low light conditions we are
catching some bigger trout using white shad
flies. Another pattern that seems to really
produce under sunny or no wind conditions is
using a #14 Rusty brown or red midge with a
#16 or #18 black midge with a copper head.
Catching a few browns when water is running
with gold and black as well as silver/black
colored #7 and #13 Rapala jerk baits.
Below Fall Creek trout
magnets in various colors fished under a
strike indicator are taking some nice
rainbows. Also power bait fishing has been
decent down around monkey island and the
landing while water is moving. Pink and
orange color combinations have been the best
for these husky Rainbow Trout.

Above Fall Creek, we have been catching plenty
of fish on copper dun and Primrose & Pearl

the last week. Black turner jones micro jigs
fished under a strike indicator have been
producing trout as well.
Below fall creek, power bait eggs in pink and
white have been key players as well as green
salmon eggs. A half black or ginger turner jones
micro jig fished 6’ under a float is taking
numbers as well as nice fish as well. A lot of

Lake Taneycomo, located here in Branson,
Missouri is fishing really good. Over the last
week we have really caught numbers of nice
rainbow and a few brown trout. The fishing has
been great for the most part generally all day
long.
Above Fall Creek, when the water is running, we
have been drifting pink and peach colored egg
flies trailed by #12 and #14 uv grey and olive
scuds. We are fishing these baits on under
floats and on weighted drift rigs on spinning
tackle. A 1/16 oz or 1/8 oz weight is used
depending on the water flow. Olive and
olive/orange sculpin jigs cast and snapped are
taking quite a few fish for us as well. Micro
jigs in olive and ginger are taking numbers of
trout for our customers when the water is off.
Below Fall Creek, we are catching most of the
trout fishing jig n float combinations with a
brown or ginger micro jig fished 5 to 7 feet
below a strike indicator. If the water is
flowing, then power bait in chart/white or
orange /white combinations are the ticket. A few
fish iting night crawlers but must inflate with
air.

The water schedule has been a little iffy, but
the fish have been biting most of the day.

fished on a fly rod or spinning rod have been
top producers for us. We have been using peach
weighted egg flies trailed with a 10” drop with
6x tippet and a #14 rainbow colored scud. Also
ginger micro jigs are taking numbers as well as
the bigger trout for us. Over the last week we
have had a couple fish over 20”. Black zebra
midges and primrose and pearl midges have been
working some days as well.
Below Fall Creek, anchoring with nightcrawlers
has been producing numbers of fish as well. If
the water is on, drifting powerbait eggs in pink

The trout fishing here on Lake Taneycomo has
heated up. We are averaging anywhere from 55 to
90 trout in a four hour guided fishing trip. The
really big trout have been hard to come by, but
the 11 to 14 inchers are everywhere. Generation
schedules vary and that determines what how we
fish, but whether you fly fish or spin fish you
can’t go wrong right now.
Above fall creek the best baits have been micro
jigs and scud combinations and/or weighted eggs
and midges. The best colors for jigs have been
ginger and olive with an orange head. 1/100 oz
has been the best weight. Olive and dark grey
scuds as well as olive and black colored midges
are the ticket as well. As far as egg colors,
yellow, and peach have worked the best for us.
Four to 6 foot leaders under a strike indicator
work well most days.
Below Fall Creek, drifting pink and white power
bait combinations have been taking numbers of
fish. Use as light a weight as you can get by
with. The best bet for larger fish is fishing a
trout magnet in cotton candy and black colors 7
to 8 foot under a float.

Its hot and so is the fishing on Lake Taneycomo.
The MDC has stocked lots of fish the last couple
of weeks and it shows. From cooper creek to the
landing drifting night crawlers and powerbait as
well as fishing trout magnets is taking lots of
fish. Cotton candy and orange trout magnets are
the best colors.
In the trophy area when the water is not
running, we have been doing the best on micro
jigs and midges fished under floats. Midges in
size #16 and #18 have been the best sizes. Ruby
red, copper dunn, and black zebra midges have
been the best. Olive/copper head and ginger
micro jigs have been the best fished under a
float. A 2.5’ leader has been best on midges and
a 5’ leader has been best on micro jigs. We have
been using 6X and 7X tippet due to the water
clarity. Also gray thread jigs and wd40s have
been working as well.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo is as good
as it has ever been. If you come to Taneycomo
you had better have a good selection of trout
magnet lures in various colors. It is the go to
bait on the lake right now. They bite it
anywhere you throw it. If you throw it you will
not only catch numbers but big fish as well.
Bill Becks customer caught a 17.5 lb rainbow
trout on a sassy colored trout magnet down below
Lilleys Landing. Drifting orange and white
powerbait and nightcrawlers is also producing
when water is moving, and if water is off anchor
and you will catch em good on nightcrawlers
filled with air. In the trophy area, jig n
floats with Turner Jones micro jigs in ginger
and olive are working well for numbers and big
fish with a 4 to 6 foot leader of 6x tippet.
Zebra midges and copper dunn midges rigged with

Water Temp – 47.5 degrees and clear
Trout fishing is still on fire down here at Lake
Taneycomo, in Branson, Missouri. In the trophy
area when the water is off a jig n float is the
ticket. Turner jones micro jigs in ginger,
black, and olive are working the best. Use about
a 6’ leader on most days. Also Darrins Ginger
jig and a 1/8 oz olive and orange sculpin jig
are producing well while cast and snapped in
short strokes. Also zebra midges and primrose
and pearl midges are producing as well. When
water runs peach eggs and #14 light gray scuds
have been working well.
From fall creek to the landing anchoring and
fishing nightcrawlers and powerbait is producing
very well. Lots of limits being caught. Also
throwing silver little cleo spoons and pink
rooster tails are taking numbers of fish as
well. When water is running drifting powerbait
eggs and crawlers is producing. A jig and float
with micro jigs and powerbait is also working
really well. Best colors are pink and white and

Lake Level: 710.20 (varies due to generation)
Water Temp – 46 degrees and clear
The trout fishing is great here on Lake
Taneycomo here in Branson, Missouri. Drifting
power bait from fall creek to Branson is taking
numbers as well as some nice trout as well. We
are filling limits of 14-16 inch trout on a
regular basis. Snapping sculpin jigs in olive
and ginger colors are working in these same
areas and generally catch bigger trout. Also
little cleo spoons are working well when the
water is off or one generator is running.
In the trophy area, jig n floats with micro jigs
in ginger and olive colors are performing for
numbers and big fish as well. We have been
catching some rainbows as well as quite a few
brown trout on a gold husky jerk jerk bait also.
Drifting egg and scud patterns as well as fly
fishing with copper dunn and zebra midges have
been producing well for us for numbers of fish.
In Roark creek we have been catching some white
bass as well as some largemouth bass and crappie
on swimming minnows and small tubes.

LAKE TANEYCOMO
FISHING REPORT
Lake Level: 705.6 (varies due to generation)
Water Temp – 48 degrees and clear
Well spring is here and the trout are biting
like crazy here at Lake Taneycomo. Shepherd of
the Hills hatchery stocked rainbows, and it
really has improveg catching. Last week
officials stocked in and above the Branson area.
These trout have been pretty easy to find and
harvest by anglers drifting PowerBait Gulp eggs
on the bottom as well as casting spoons and
working them closer to the surface. Trout
migrate to the slower areas of the lake which
are along the sides, especially the inside bends
of the lake where the current is slower. They
also will hold in creeks and creek mouths, again
out of the current. This week the water has
slowed down and trout are in larger areas
biting. We’ve been fishing in Turkey and Roark
creeks and catching some nice rainbow trout as
well. Power bait has been the deal.
The fishing up below the dam, has been good as
well. Actually, there’s been a trickle of thread
fin shad come through the turbines from Table
Rock, enough for the trout holding within the
first 800 yards of the dam face to hit anything
white that floats by. Throwing small crankbaits
and drifting shad flies and white jigs from the
cable down to Outlet #3 has been taking some
nice rainbows measuring between 11 and 19
inches, a lot of them spitting up shad when
brought to the boat. Also throwing egg flies and
scuds are working well up in the trophy area as
well. For the trip of a lifetime on Lake

LAKE TANEYCOMO
FISHING REPORT
Lake Level: 706.0 (varies due to generation)
Water Temp – 47 -50 degrees and clear
The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo is hot as
fire. The trout are biting like it is their last
meal. Up in the trophy area jig n float
combinations with turner jones olive and orange
head jigs as well as Darrin from lilleys
landing’s ginger jig is taking numbers of trout.
Also drift rigs with peach eggs and #12 and #14
scuds in light and dark grey rigged with very
little weight are working very well. When it
gets tough, copper dunn midges with a size 20
trailing scud works well.
Fishing below Fall Creek is still good, but from
the cooper creek boat ramp to monkey island has
been better in part to the conservation dept.
stocking trout the other day in this area.
Powerbait or Gulp in chart/white or pink/white
combinations, has been doing very well. Minnows
and night crawlers are taking some nice fish as
well. Fishing this is very simple. Use a drift
rig and let it drag on the bottom with as little
weight as possible to maintain contact with the
bottom. Little cleo spoons in silver and orange
and trout colors are taking numbers of fish in
these areas as well as up in the trophy area.

LAKE TANEYCOMO FISHING REPORT
Lake Level: 701.7 (varies due to generation)
Water Temp – 46 -47 degrees and clear
The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo is awesome
and smoking hot. In the trophy area a #16 rusty
midge fished with 6x fluorocarbon tippit under a
palsa but in the middle of the water column,
most of the time twelve to eighteen inches deep
is working extremely well. The strikes on this
are much easier to see because the fish take the
palsa completely under when the bite. When the
water is moving, we have been catching nice
trout on white shad flies and white wooly
buggers below the dam on drift rigs as well as
eggs and scuds near the narrows.
The jig fishing has been good too. Sculpin,
black, and sculpin and ginger jigs have been
producing well jigging them off of the bottom.
Today it was so windy it was hard to feel or see
the bites because the line had such a big bow in
it. A jig and float was easier to catch them on
because of the float.
Fishing below Fall Creek has been good also.
Powerbait or Gulp in chart/white or
chartreuse/orange combinations, has been doing
very well. Fishing this is very simple. Use a
drift rig and let it drag on the bottom. Also
trolling gold countdown Rapalas has been
producing good fishas well as little jakes in
gold and red are taking some nice fish as well.

LAKE TANEYCOMO FISHING REPORT
Lake level: 710.0 (varies due to generation)
Water Temp – 46 degrees
Trolling with spinners, medium crank baits and
jigs is working well. I would recommend trolling
below Cooper Creek and do down past the Landing.
There’s more room down there plus that’s the
area where Shepherd has been stocking their
trout. Freshly stocked trout tend to stay close
to the surface for a few days. Trolling lures
run through this layer of water. Jig and float
works well for these rainbows too.
Live bait is definitely catching bigger numbers
lately and Gulp Power Bait using a white and
chartreuse and orange and yellow either drifting
down the lake when the water is running or still
fishing. Four-pound line is the right weight
line to use right now. You don’t need to drop to
2-pound. If the water is running, try minnows on
a drift rig and when the water off–fish with air
injected night crawlers.
On calm days, no wind, fishing jigs straight
line and using 1/8th oz if the water is running
and 1/16th oz if it is not. I’m using white,
sculpin/orange and olive below the dam during
generation, then dropping the white and using
brown and sculpin below Lookout. Try a 1/16th oz
jig under a float if the water is running and
fish it about the depth of the water you’re
fishing or a little deeper. Go to micro or
marabou jigs in same colors and experiment with
the depth of the jig till you find that happy
level where the trout will bite.

Water Temp – 49 degrees
The trout fishing is great right now here on
Lake Taneycomo in Branson, Missouri. If you want
to catch numbers of trout as well as some big
ones, comes fish with us as soon as you can.
From fall creek down to the cooper creek public
access, drifting gulp eggs while current is
running is the deal. Color does not seem to
matter. The trout are biting and it does not
matter what color combos you throw. The main
thing is use as light a weight as you can get by
with. When no water is running in these areas, a
jig n float combo works well. Olive jigs have
been the best.
From Fall Creek to the Table Rock dam, when the
water is not running or if there is one
generator running light, jig n float combos with
olive and pink micro jigs are the deal. While
the water runs, we have had our best luck
drifting egg flies and light gray #16 scuds. A
technique that is starting to pick up, is
fishing a zebra midge 18” under a float.
Anywhere you see trout midging this is working.
We have been catching them from Branson all the
way to the dam whenever the trout are midging.

LAKE TANEYCOMO FISHING REPORT
Lake level: 703.8 (varies due to generation)
Water Temp – 52 degrees
Fall trout fishing here on Lake Taneycomo is
awesome. It is really showing fisherman how
wonderful of a fishery it really is. The trout
are midging everywhere. Casting jig and float
combos and gold castmaster spoons to these fish
is working well. We have been catching numbers
and big trout as well. Clients have had numbers
of fish in the 18” to 22” range this week
including several nice german brown trout.
From Cooper creek to Fall creek, fishing
inflated night crawler are working the best.
Also catching lots of fish with power bait as
well. Best way to fish has been on very lite
bottom rigs with 2lb test line. On a cloudy day
the trout will rip a gold rapala floating
jerkbait from your hands along the edge of flats
and the channel banks.
Below Cooper Creek to Branson anchoring with
bottom rigs and throwing power bait in orange
and yellow color combinations is performing the
best. Also in line spinners are producing as
well.
In the trophy area 1/8 oz sculpin jigs in orange
head/olive bodied sculpin jigs snapped off the
bottom is producing numbers of larger fish. When
the bite slows down #18 rusty brown midges
trailed with #20 grey scuds along the flats is
the deal. Also jig and float combinations is
performing well for numbers of fish. On cloudy
days jerkbaits twitched along channel banks will
more than likely give you a strike from a nice
rainbow or a large brown trout.

Trout fishing is
still great on Lake Taneycomo. The water has
been off in the mornings and then they generate
in the afternoons. From
Cooper creek to Downtown Branson, the trout are
biting power bait on the bottom as well as on
power bait jig n float combinations. Orange
and yellow as well as sunrise and white color
combinations are working well. Also
catching some nice fish snapping a 1/8 oz olive
sculpin jig off the bottom and throwing little
cleo spoons early as well.
From Cooper creek to Fall creek, fishing
powerbait and inflated nightcrawler are working
the best. Also
catching lots of fish with a jig and float rig
with a power egg on the undressed jig. Best
color egg is yellow and pink colors.
When the water is off jig and float combinations
with olive and ginger micro jigs are working the
best. Also
early little cleo and little jake gold spoons
are working well. When
the bite toughens up uv gray #16 and #20 scuds
are what it takes to get bit. The
trout bite really fast, so be quick on hook

Chartreuse and white as well as orange

snapping a 1/8 oz olive sculpin jig off
the bottom. Little Jake gold spoons are
working well early or if the wind blows
as well. Trout seem to bite all day
long.
From Cooper creek to Fall creek,
dragging powerbait in orange/ yellow and
green/white color combinations are
working good. Also catching lots of fish
with a jig and float rig with a power
egg on the undressed jig. Best color egg
is sunrise.
With the water moving like it has the
trout fishing up in the trophy area has
been awesome. This week we caught some

Fishing on Lake Taneycomo has been awesome again
this past week. The power generators have been
left off most of the day and then turned on in
the afternoon hours. The U.S. Corps of Army
Engineers has been running a little less than
one generator for anywhere from an hour to a few
hours in the afternoon.
In the trophy area, the fishing has been great.
We have been doing well with 1/100th oz
yellow/peach eggs and micro jigs in ginger and
olive. Also catching a few on a white thread jig
when it is tough. #16 midges in rusty, black and
black/silver have been the ticket when fish get
suspended.
Below the trophy area rainbow trout have been
biting night crawlers very well along with white
and orange and yellow Powerbait combinations. We
have also been catching some nice fish below
Fall Creek on ginger micro jigs, and sculpin
1/8th oz marabou jigs in green and orange color
combos. Just below Fall Creek and right around

inflated night crawlers. In the down town
Branson area of the lake, Berkley power bait
gulp eggs are the deal. The best colors are
orange/yellow, and chat./white color
combinations on drift rigs. On the upper end of
Lake Taneycomo, white shad flies and white wooly
boogers, have been excellent. Also peach egg fly
patterns and #14 and #12 scuds in grey and tan
have been the best for numbers of fish up here
in the trophy area. Our clients have caught
several big brown and rainbow trout this week.

LAKE TANEYCOMO FISHING REPORT
Lake level: 706.7 Water Temp – 53 degrees
They have been generating water just about
everyday. Anywhere from 2-4 generators. The
trout fishing is absolutely awesome. The rainbow
and brown trout are biting orange/yellow, and
chart./white colored power eggs from monkey
island down to the landing. From Lilleys landing
to fall creek nightcrawlers have been best. In
the trophy area, we are still catching some big
trout on shad colored jerkbaits, as well as
white wolly buggers and shad flies. For numbers
egg fly patterns and scuds have been the best.
Best colors on scuds have been grey and light
brown. Egg colors that have been working are
peach and tangerine. When the sun gets up and it
gets tuff drop down to a #16 size scud to
increase your odds. For the trip of a lifetime

LAKE TANEYCOMO FISHING REPORT
Lake level: 708.0 Water Temp – 54 degrees
Well they are still generating water from 1- 4
generator most days. The fishing above in the
trophy area is awesome. We have been catching
the rainbow and brown trout on White wooly
buggers, egg fly patterns, and #12 and #14 olive
and tan scuds. Also the bigger trout are still
hitting rapala and xps jerkbaits in shad
patterns. The water has a tint to it, and white
is working well. Also 1/8 oz white jigs are
working well for not only trout but we have been
catching some crappie, white bass, and walleye
as well up here. Down below the trophy area of
Lake Taneycomo, we are catching trout on orangem
yellow, chartreuse, and pink Berkley gulp power
eggs on drift rigs. Also catching a few on
inflated nightcrawlers as well. Had a client
“Erik Sullins on a trip this week and between
him and his wife they caught a 25 ¼” brown
trout, a 21.5 inch rainbow trout, and a 20 ¼”
rainbow trout as well as many other nice fish.
